Frequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
  1. What are your expectations of me?

What are your expectations of me?

The most important expectation I have of my students is to respect me, their
peers, their environment, and, most importantly, themselves. I believe this
covers everything; when students are respectful of me, each other, and their
school, then we will have a great year!

Additionally, students should come to class prepared with all materials
necessary for my class, including notebooks, writing utensils, independent
reading books, and any completed assignments.

Lastly, I expect all students to do their best in my classroom!

Oh, no! I missed class! How do I make up my work?!

First, check your class' Make Up Work Log. This will inform you of what in
class and homework assignments you missed. You will have the same amount of
time to complete missed assignments as your fellow classmates did. For
example, if you were absent on Monday, you would have missed the homework
assignment that is due on Tuesday. When you return to school on Tuesday,
you will have until Wednesday to complete Monday night's homework assignment.

What is your homework policy?

You will receive half credit for a homework assignment turned in one day
late, unless you have an excused absence. Any work turned in after more
than one day late will result in a zero.

What if I need extra help, or I need to make up a test?

I encourage you to stay for extra help, whether or not you feel you need it!
I will stay late on Monday and Wednesday to provide additional assistance to
those students who would like it, or for students who need to make up work
or tests. Please let me know one day in advance that you plan to stay late
so that I know to expect you...and remember to tell your parents or
guardians so someone can pick you up!

I am also available early in the morning, before school, if that is more
convenient for you and your parent/guardian. Please talk to me so we can
make arrangements.
