Announcements

Dear 6th and 7th Grade Students and Parents:

In order to prepare for the HMS Chorus Winter Concert, it is necessary to
schedule ONE after-school rehearsal. The rehearsal will be on Thursday January
7th for all 6th Grade Chorus members, and Thursday January 14th for all 7th
Grade Chorus members. At this rehearsal the period 2, 3, 4/5, 7/8 and 9th
period classes will be combined for the first time to get riser positions and
rehearse the concert selections. The after-school rehearsals will be held in
the Auditorium from 2:55 to 3:35 pm. Late bus passes will be given. Students
will receive extra credit for attending the rehearsal.

GRADE 6: Thursday January 7th
GRADE 7: Thursday January 14th

Hammarskjold Winter Chorus Concert: Wednesday, January 20, 2010 @ HMS Auditorium.
All chorus students are to report to the cafeteria at 6:30 for warm-ups. Look
for your assigned table by row and voice part.

Concert attire for all students will be black and white - white shirt or
blouse, and black(or as dark as possible) pants or skirt. Absolutely NO jeans,
sweat pants or sneakers are allowed.

The concert begins at 7:00 pm and is free to all. Why not invite your whole
family and your friends? They would love to hear you perform for them,
especially the combined chorus grand finale!

I am excited to share all of your hard work with your family and friends!

Warmest regards,
Miss Weiss

Our Honors Chorus meets every Tuesday after school, unless we have a half day
of school. We end our rehearsal in time for students to take the late bus at
3:40 PM, and students will be given bus passes.

The Honors Chorus will perform at our two scheduled Hammarskjold Chorus
Concerts: January 20, 2010 and June 9, 2010. In addition, they will
participate in the annual East Brunswick All-District Choral Festival on
February 10, 2010. This festival is a wonderful opportunity for our students
to perform for chorus members of other schools in the district, as well as to
combine all of the voices for the grand finale. It's quite a thrill to perform
with such a large chorus. Students will work with a guest conductor, and leave
the festival having had a wonderful experience making music with some of East
Brunswick's
finest voices!

If you have any questions regarding our Vocal Music or Beginning Piano
program, please do not hesitate to call, or send me and email. I will get
back to you as soon as possible.

I am looking forward to seeing you at our concerts!

Regards,
Miss Weiss
