Unit 2 Vocabulary Quiz
Due Wednesday, October 15th:
* Flash cards for Unit 2 vocabulary (include your full name on each card!)
* As we get new vocabulary words you can begin creating flash cards for the
Unit 2 vocabulary.
Due Friday, October 10th:
Complete packet pgs 8-9 (using your Do Nows, class notes and packet pages).
Due Wednesday, October 8th:
1st Blog entry (proper heading and 3 paragraph long report) on your chosen
Presidential Election article. Check the Election blog for more information.
Due Monday, October 6th:
1. Parent Signature for both the Unit 1 Test and the Organization Quiz
Official, yet unofficial homework for October 2nd: Watch the Vice-
Presidential Debate tonight starting at 8pm. If you can't watch it on TV it
will also be radio broadcasted and later posted on the Internet. Enjoy! I
can't wait to get your feedback!
Special Note:
If you are absent and miss a quiz or a test then plan to stay in for lunch
(with your prepared lunch) with that teacher and/or stay after school the
day/s that you return.
* This will help make your catch up much smoother and easier.
Due Thursday, October 2nd:
Reread your news article about the Presidential Election. Be sure that you
understand the Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How of the news article!

Due Wednesday, September 24th:
Complete packet pg 23 using maps & key on packet pages 24-25
Due Tuesday, September 23rd:
Complete flash cards for all 17 vocabulary words (be sure to have your full
name on each card)
Due Thursday, September 18th:
Completed Culture Quilt Project
--> turn in packet pg 13, 'Ethnography'of your culture and the
grading/evaluation handout.
** Review the vocabulary words each night.****
For Wednesday, September 17th:
1. Read 'Nacirema' on packet pg 18 and answer questions on the handout given
in class.
For Tuesday, September 16th:
1. Complete packet pg 17.
Be prepared to bring in 20 index cards next week.
By Friday, September 12th:
1. Final copy of "I am From . . ." poem
2. Complete "Me Bag" with 3-4 artifacts that describe your personal culture.
By Monday, September 8th:
1. Please cover and keep your textbook in a safe place at home. I will
recollect the textbooks in June.
2. Read over the textbook contract with your parents/guardians. Sign the
contract and return on Monday
3. All supplies are due. (House 4 Agenda Binder & Social Studies Binder with
index cards)
By Friday, September 5th: (I encourage you to turn them in early!)
1. Completed and signed "Getting to Know You" Handout
2. Read, discussed and signed Course Newsletter/Contract Handout with family
For Monday, September 8th:
1. Be sure to get all of the necessary school supplies for House 4 and
Social Studies class.
*** Be sure to cover your text book and keep it in a safe place at home!
They will be collected during the last week of school (the school will
charge you for damage to the textbook).
