WEEK OF JANUARY 25:
Math 6 will begin Unit 5 this week. We'll look at basic geometry terms early
in the week, then move on the measuring and drawing angles and basic angle
relationships. We should be beginning work on circle graphs by the end of
the week.
Math Prime is starting Unit 6. We'll look at various operations with signed
numbers early in the week, then move on to number systems and order of
operations. I'm going to give the kids a reasonably short quiz on Thursday
on using all operations with signed numbers (Lessons 6.3-6.4 only).
***NOTE: I asked Math 6 kids to reorganize their binders for this week. My
sense is that many of them were rarely, if ever, reviewing their notes. Few
of them were taking their binders home every day. As a result, I asked them
to put everything into a one inch binder as a way of making it easier to take
their binders home each day. Fewer than 10% of the House 1 kids had
reorganized their binders by today. Please take a look at the
