READING:
Our fourth and final book report has been assigned. The children are reading
mystery novels and creating "case files" for their book reports. Each child
has received a detailed outline and materials in order to complete their book
report. Case files are due on Friday, June 7.
Monday - Friday - Read your free-reading book for at least 20 minutes. Record
the book and pages read on your reading record. Have an adult sign your
reading record.
Students are expected to have a free-reading book at school with them each
day, and then take it home at night in their ziplock bag for homework reading.
For independent reading, each student should read seven books to receive an
"E". One book is 150 pages, so if you read a book that is 300 pages, it counts
as two books. Make sure you note the number of pages when you submit your
summaries. Also, one book of the seven must be a non-fiction genre.
SPELLING: No spelling homework this week!
