Set aside time this summer to read your summer reading selection. Plan
intervals of time to read (half hour to 45 minutes in a quiet place with few
to no distractions). At the end of each reading session respond to the
following aspects of the text:
Characterization – (names, descriptions, significant dialogue, actions,
interactions with other characters)

Setting – (description, time, mood)

Conflicts/Resolutions – (issues or problems faced by characters, and
solutions or responses to these issues/problems)

Theme – (significant feelings or messages you got from the reading)

Be sure to begin reading sooner rather than later during the summer and
manage your time.
