week of May 29-June 1-
Reading- Students should be reviewing their vocab list in preparation for
their final exam which will be on Friday 6/1. It will be 26 vocab and 14
questions drawn from 2 short stories.
Spelling- There are no new words for this week. We may at some point play
Spelling
BINGO with words from our unit 5 lists.
Lang Arts- (GR) I reviewed last week with them for the test on Tuesday which
will cover simple subject/predicate, complete subject/predicate. There will
also be a section where they must determine is the given sentence is a
sentence or it is not a complete sentence.
(WR) Students must finish work on their Tall Tales and complete the required
illustration.This should have been completed but some students have not been
diligent in completeing this writing assignment. Please understand that the
Language Arts grade is composed of both grammar and writing components.
Math- I will review again on Tuesday for the final exam. Students were given
notes for every single type of question that will appear on the final. At
this point I would fully expect that they have studied and are armed with
additional questions or specific problems they would like me to go over one
more time. Please take time to study, the final is on Thursday 5/31.
Science- On Tuesday we will learn about light energy and on Wednesday about
thermal energy. We still have not done our roller coaster lab, whether I
find time to fit it in depends largely on the behavior of the class this
week. This has been an ongoing issue with the entire class. At this point in
the year it is time to show that they have matured and the incessant chatting
and nonsense is to cease or they will lose out.
Soc. St.- Students should be studying chapter 1 in their Latin American
books in preparation for their test this week. I beleive Mrs. Cedeno had
announced that it would be on Wednesday.
Religion- Every student in class was given a handout with an assigned Saint
for them to do some simple research about. This assignment is due on or
before Friday 6/1. It will count equal to a test grade. I am doing this to
try and help some students bring up their Religion grade. The Friday
deadline is NOT A SUGGESTION IT IS THE DUE DATE!!! I will not accept this
late. I must start to work on 3rd trimester grades.
