week of November 30-
Just a reminder that the first trimester is closing on December 4.
Reading- I will intro the new vocab, genre, target skill for our new story
entitled, "Everglades".HW on Monday night will be working with the vocab,
2wb.p. 82 it is not due until Wed. Due to our trip on Tuesday we will not
have our weekly selection test until Friday 12/4.
Spelling- On Monday we will have our pretest of new list words, HW that night
will be Wb.p. 34. It is not due until Wed. There will be 3 word wall words
this week, be sure to include them in your studying for the test on Friday
12/4.
Math- The class did a very nice job on their chapter 3 test. This week we
will be starting ch,4 discussing prime and composite numbers. We wil also be
learning about GCF, and fractions in the lowest terms. (approx. pgs 136-140)
Soc. St.- Province profile and information booklet assignment is due Friday
12/4. This assignment was begun in class and must be completed at home by
the due date. Please be sure you have included all information that Mrs.
Cedeno has indicated is required.
Lang. Arts- This wek we will be working on intensive vs. reflexive,
antecedents, and pronouns and contractions. (approx. pgs 352
-357 in textboo
Science- Students were given an outline of their research requirements and
their assigned Biome, due date for all work is Thursday 12/10.
This week we will be learning about water ecosystems , how organisms
interact, and how energy moves through a system. (pgs 136-147). I will not
be testing on this chapter, the report combined with the oral panel
discussions based on the research will replace a test for this chapter.
Religion- We will be working on chapter 8 this week, it deals with the
coming of the Holy Spirit. The students did a fantastic job on their Saint
puppets.
