Catholic Schools week was fun for us.
We celebrated Kayla's birthday on Friday. She was 7 years old.
This week coming is a normal 5 day week with chicken nuggets on Mon., ziti on
Tuesday and ham & cheese bagel on Wed. Our half day and Mass is on Feb 17 and
then we have on school Feb 20 and 21 for Presidents' Day.
Mathematics: we will find the missing parts of number sentences 8+_ = 15,
We can count up from 8 to 15 and get 7 or subtract 15-8 =7. Addition and
subtraction are opposites so you can do the opposite to check and answer.We
will solve problems by using making a table 3 dogs have 4 feet.Also we will
solve problems by using a strategy--draw, use + or _, make a table,.
We will do Ch. 6 test.
Reading: This week our theme is Our Family. We will be learning the long
sound of e me, be, we, he, feed, seed, feet, lead, seat, dream.
Our vocabulary is: give, pretty, says, were, write. We will also go over the
words splendid and concentrate.
We will discuss the setting of stories and holidays and the use of has and
have in sentences.
Spelling: me,feed,seat,keep,we,beak, play, rain, give,write BONUS word is
FEBRUARY.
Religion:review of the Good Shepherd and how we can be a good shepherd. We
will review ch 17 for a test ==yes and no to 10 questions.
Science: rocks, sand, soil= clay soil, humus soil. We will discuss
Weathering as it refers to the changes in rocks due to water and ice. We will
learn that Erosion is when wind and water move land and rocks and soil.
Animaals and people change soil, land and rocks too.
