We really enjoyed the Newark Museum. Thank you to the chaperones.
June 13 is Tristan's birthday, june 21 is Nicole's and June 30 is Valery's.
Wednesday the Kindergarten will visit us at snack time. Let's all welcome
them.
We have butterflies. I was in the classroom this morning and they are flying
around in the box. We will let them free Tuesday.
READING: We will review the vocaulary words from last week and review the
spelling words.
New vocabulary is around, begin, brought, certain,minutes, straight, cancel,
daydream.
We will read 2 syllable words and discuss Adverbs of How.
Our new story is SUPER OSCAR who is a boy who likes to daydream.
We will go over compound words-daydream, catfish, peanutbutter, football etc.
MATHEMATICS: review of subtraction with regrouping and use dimes in Math. We
will use a hundreds chart to add and subtract 2 digit numbers when we are
adding ten to a number- 63+10 is 73.We will learn fractions as part of a
whole and look at pictures that are one part of two, one part of 3 etc.
RELIGION:We belong to the Catholic Church and the first Pope was Peter. Our
Pope now is Benedict and he is called the Holy Father.
SCIENCE: Sounds in nature, make a simple noise maker and do a review of
chapter. If time do a picture walk through Ch 10 which is ENERGY.
SPELLING: test will not be until next Wednesday. Words are: apple, table,
purple, circle, turtle, title, happen, begin, certain, minutes.
