Miss Paris's 3rd Grade Class

Homework

Dear Parents,

Please continue to check your child's Take Home folder and Homework planner
for nightly assignments and important notices.

Your third grader should be reading every night for at least 20 minutes in
order to improve comprehension, active reading strategies reviewed in class,
and vocabulary.

In addition, the children should be studying multiplication/division fact
triangles every night. Our goal by the end of third grade is to master, at
the minimum, the 0x, 1, 2x, 5x, and 10x tables.

Please note that at least twice a week for homework, your child will have
reading passages to read through carefully and answer multiple choice and
comprehension questions. Our students are practicing RACE, an acronym for
Restate, Add details, Connect with a feeling sentence, and End/edit to help
them prepare for answering such open ended questions on the NJ ASK, the
third grade test administered the second week of March.

Thank you for your cooperation and support!
