Welcome To the 2009-2010 School Year

Welcome to our 2009-20010 school year. We look forward to working with you in making this school year a successful one, and appreciate your continued support of the PTA.

At Lawrence Brook School we have a very active PTA. With over 300 members, starting with the most dedicated Executive PTA Board, principal, teachers and staff to the parents who chair our fundraisers, events and the parent volunteers who assist them. Our hope is that you will become a member, and join our PTA family.

We invite you to participate in our PTA-sponsored events and activities. Parent and adult volunteers are needed to help out both during our many events and in the planning phases as well. We appreciate all the time and effort that our volunteers give. Without you we could not accomplish the many goals we have set for our children. You are a valuable resource to the school, teachers and staff.

Our Cultural Arts Program has been instrumental in bringing unique and educational assemblies to our school.

This school year our children can look forward to many fun and educational assemblies such as, The Chinese Acrobats, Arithetickles, Bach to Rock Assemblies and more.

   Fundraising is a big part of the PTA. Our parents volunteer their time to chair the many events that help to support Cultural Arts as well as many other special events in our school. The Cultural Arts Program, funded by the PTA would not exist, if not for parents such as you.  In the 2008-2009 school year fundraisers such as, the Holiday Pie Sale, Walk-A-Thon, and the Father’s Day Gift Sale helped us to reach our fundraising goals. Scholastic Book Fairs are a great way to support the PTA, as well as, stimulate reading in our children. The Holiday Gift Shop is abundant with various priced gifts for students to purchase the perfect gift for family and friends. Other fundraisers include Entertainment and KidStuff Books, Lawrence Brook School Bulldog Clothing, our Annual not to be missed Halloween Fun Night.

Through fundraising we are also able to gift to the school many items otherwise unattainable due to budget restrictions such as, smart boards, classroom games, TV DVD/VCR combos, student agendas, digital cameras, and cold water fountains. These are just some of the items the PTA has gifted in the past several years.

Our PTA also sponsors many events and activities, the Kindergarten Ice Cream Social is a great way for students, parents and teachers to meet in a relaxed social environment set up just for them. Family Fun Nights such as; Bingo, Movie Night, Bowling and Roller Skating events are a great way for busy families to spend quality time together, and our Field Day Barbecue is a treat for both students and staff. Don’t miss our Tricky Tray Event!

Please read through the entire packet and return all paperwork by the end of the month. Due to printing deadlines it is important that you get all forms back to us ASAP. Please feel free to sign up for as many events and activities that you wish on the Volunteer Sheet. Our Chair people will contact you as the event gets closer.
