About the PTA

Become a PTA member! 

Membership is $6.50 for the year (more than one family member can join!).  As a member you can take part in the planninga of, and help with PTA activies sucn as assemblys, book and plant sales, parties etc.

PTA meeting start at 7:30PM, at the media center on these dates:

September 17th          February 11th                        
October 8th                 March 10th – Budget presentation
November 12              April 14th
December 10th          May 12th
January 11th               June 16th


A B O U T   T H E   P T A
The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) in Lawrence Brook School serves two very important roles. We are a communication link between school and home and a sponsor of programs and educational aides that might not be otherwise be available to our students.

Through our Cultural Arts program, we are able to bring assemblies that are not only educational but are fun for the students. An Educational Game Show, Marionettes, a Native Story teller and a magic show involving reading are just some of the shows our children can look forward to.

These programs are made possible through your support of our fundraisers. Only through fundraising such as bake sales, plant sales, Scholastic Book fairs, etc. can our Cultural Arts program flourish. We ask you and your children to participate in various fundraisers throughout the school year, and our children are the direct beneficiaries of the effort. Volunteers play an important role in these events. From help in planning events to chairing them, we couldn’t do it without their help and support.

There are many ways of communication and our PTA uses them all. Through e-mail we can keep you up to date on the PTA happenings in our school. Web sites such as ebnet.org can keep you up to date on “What’s Happening” and you can receive PTA notices by e-mail (you can join the e-mail list ). At our monthly PTA meetings events and activities are reported on by the board, school staff and our chair people. Our snow chain by phone will inform you if there is an early or emergency school closing. From time to time you may even receive a mailing, although most paperwork goes home through the student’s school folders.

PTA Room Parents are an important part of the school. With their help and support we are able to bring Holiday, Cultural Festivities and End of the Year parties to the classroom. Room parents not only volunteer their time to help out at class parties. They are also called upon to help with snow chain phone calls and participation on Field Day.

Our hope is that every parent gets involved in school events and activities. We can all make a difference in our children’s school experience, whether it is in a big way or small. We appreciate all the support and participation we receive from you throughout the school year, and look forward to making this year a huge success.
