October PTA HAPPENINGS
The next PTA Meeting is on October 6th 7:30 in the media center. Everyone is
welcome and encouraged to attend. PTA meetings are a great way to keep up to
date on events and happenings in the school.
There will be a Point Parent Only Meeting on October 6th at 6:45pm in the
media center. Point Parents were notified by letter on September 29th. If
you have any questions please contact Denise Contrino, Room Parent
Coordinator at jerseygirl521@comcast.net. The first PTA party will be on
October 31st after the Halloween Parade. Only Room Parents may attend the
party, all parents may attend the parade.
Fifth Grade Committee, the first meeting will be on November 10th at 6:45 in
the media center. If you would like to join the Fifth Grade Committee you
must e-mail Kathy Endler atpktjendler@comcast.net and Denise Contrino
jerseygirl521@comcast.net Chairpersons before this meeting.
SEPTA (Special Education PTA) the next meeting is October 27th, 7:00pm in
the E.B. Public Library. Come meet the Mayoral Candidates. Social Group for
teens 12-16 will coincide with the meeting. Childcare available at this
meeting, registration for babysitting and the social group required at
eddiewienersepta@hotmail.com
Entertainment and KidsStuff Books final orders are due. Any questions please

Spirit Wear orders are due by October 1st. Any questions please contact
Teresa Kuchenbrod at kjtbone@comcast.net
Scholastic Book Fair October 14th-16th. Please watch your child’s backpack
for book flyers and reminders.
The Roller Skating event scheduled for October 21st has been changed to
Bowling. Please watch your child’s backpack for the flyer.
Halloween Fun Night, the Halloween Fun Night Committee is looking for
volunteers to help with this very eventful night, if you are able to help
out, please contact Teresa Kuchenbrod at kjtbone@comcast.net or Hali
Figueroa at youppe@aol.com. Donations of candy and non-candy items will be
accepted till the 23rd. Any one interested in sending in homemade or store
bought decorations can leave them in the box as well. A donation box will be
in the office for all donations.
PTA Web Site, anyone interested in receiving e-mail blasts or accessing PTA
information through the computer can sign up at teacherweb.com and complete
the following procedure. Click LBS, click PTA and then click on the button
at the bottom of the home page. At this site you can view and print
information regarding PTA Meetings, the PTA Calendar, PTA Happenings, PTA
Room Parents, Fundraising Events and flyers, information on the Fifth Grade
Committee and more.
MISSION MEMORIAL, Lawrence Brook will be collecting CHILDREN’S BOOKS and
GAMES for the teachers and students at Memorial School. As most of you know
Memorial School was totaled by a fire in early July and all books and
materials were lost. Anyone wishing to donate NEW or GENTLY USED CHILDREN’S
BOOKS and GAMES can send all donations into school. There will be a
container in the lobby clearly mark; MISSION MEMORIAL.

Remember we are still collecting the following; Box Tops, Campbell’s UPC’S,
Nestle water bottle labels, ink cartridges and batteries. Containers are
available in the lobby.
