Please check your child's take-home folder every night for important
notices. Also, check their planner for homework assignments and other
information. Thank you.
Homework is usually assigned daily, Monday through Thursday. Please remember
to read with your child nightly for 20 minutes. Reading Logs will be sent
home from time to time for your child to complete and for you
to sign.
Words Their Way homework is assigned Monday through Friday. The routine will
be the same each week. The children will have a WTW homework book. In school
on Mondays, they will copy their ten words for the week in their planners. On
Monday night, their ten words are to be put in ABC order. On Tuesdays they
will choose five of their words to write in telling sentences. On Wednesdays,
they will use the remaining five words in asking sentences. Thursday's
homework is to practice spelling their ten words, as an assessment will be
given every Friday.
**Math addition and subtraction facts should be practiced every night to
develop speed and accuracy.**
