Should my child be reading every night?

Yes! Yes! Yes! We will have designated nights when the children will be
bring home books from class, but the children should be reading every night
for at least 20 minutes. If you must skip a night, try to get in a few extra
minutes the following night. This goes for math facts as well. Children
should be working on their addition and subtraction facts each night to
improve speed and accuracy

How do I know if a book is 'just right' for my child?

As we go on your child should be able to tell you the answer to this
question, but things to look for are: Are there too many words on the page
my child can not pronounce? Can they explain to me or summarize what they
have just read? Are they reading in a voice that is similiar to their own or
is it robotic sounding? Is it a book they seem interested in?
