Dear Parents and Students,
I hope you are enjoying the rest of your summer and getting ready for
third grade! Get set for a year filled of fun, learning, and exploring!
In third grade, you will learn how to write in script and you will learn
multiplication and division facts. As scientists, you will explore rocks and
minerals, magnetism and electricity, and organisms in Science, and you will
learn many new facts in Social Studies. As readers, you will read many
exciting and interesting books. As writers, you will spend time writing
personal narratives, fiction stories, essays, and poems.
This summer I spent time relaxing at the beach, reading, and spending
time with my family and friends. I am wondering what you did this summer. On
the first day of school, please bring two items with you; one item to tell
what you did over the summer and one item to share something special about
you. Please bring these to school in a bag with your name on it. You will
share these items during the first week of school.
We have a fun and exciting year ahead and will share many great memories
together. I hope you are as excited as I am for third grade. I can’t wait to
meet you! See you soon!
From,
Mrs. Schrader
