Dear Writers,
What a great start to the year we have had! We have offically launched our
Writer's Workshop with our first unit of study focusing on personal
narratives. I love hearing all your stories and want you to hold on to them
forever!
So far we have learned three strategies for generating ideas for personal
narratives. The three strategies we have learned are: 1. Think of a special
person and jot down moments you shared with that person. Pick one moment,
sketch it, and begin your story. 2. Think of a special place and jot down
moments that happened there. Pick one moment, sketch it, and begin your
story. 3. Choose and object around you. Jot down ideas that the object
spurs in your memory. Pick one moment, sketch it, and begin your story.
Writers, I am so excited to take this journey with you and develop personal
narratives. I can't wait to read the finished pieces!
Love,
Mrs. Schrader
