Dear Parents,
Grade four students are being taught the following subjects daily: Religion, Math, Spelling, Reading, English, and Social Studies/Science. The number of minutes taught stays constant. The time of day is flexible depending on the A to F day schedule observed at the Landisville campus. Specials are as follows:
Monday – Art, Tuesday – Spanish, Wednesday – Music, Thursday – Spanish and Computers, Friday – Gym.
Please stress study (of notes taken in class) EVERY day. No written homework will be given on weekends. There will be special assignments throughout the year.
In addition to calling the school, I can be reached at NDRSGRADE4@GMAIL.COM
I will check once in the AM and once in the PM when time permits.
October thru December
Grade 4 is hard at work. Our move to the “big” school has gone smoothly. A few facts again need to be stressed.
A - Your student must write down homework assignments daily with day and dates.
B – I have been told, “My answer must be correct because my father/mother did my work”. Please allow them to become independent. Checking their work is not the same as doing their work for them. Allow an answer to be made, then checked, and then corrected if needed.
C - Look for tests on Thursday each week. These must be signed and returned to school.
D - ALL tests are listed in assignment planners on the Friday or last class day of the week BEFORE tests are given. Specials are included in the list when I am notified.
E - We will begin work on book reports and multiplication.
Thank you for your cooperation. Karen Mackney
