Hi! My name is Anton Tarabocchia (Mr. T). I have been an educator for 28
years and 27 of these years have been with the OLC School family. I teach
Science to the 5th through 8th grade students and Religion to the 7th and
8th graders. I am also the Science and Religion Coordinator for our school.
I was a participating member of the Science Curriculum Committee of the
Archdiocese of Newark. We worked to establish a new Science Curriculum
Guidelines aligned with the NJ Standards to be used by all elementary
schools in the archdiocese.
It is my desire to help my students meet their fullest potential by creating
a secure, caring, and stimulating environment in which to grow and mature
physically, emotionally, intellectually, and socially. I provide my students
with hands-on activities in lab to reinforce the lessons covered in class.
Our 2011-2012 school year will be filled with questioning, hypothesizing,
experimenting, observing, interpreting and analyzing data, creating projects,
and much more. My students will communicate their findings with others via
lab reports utilizing the Scientific Method. They will also utilize this
method as they work on their school science fair projects.
It is my goal to guide my students in acquiring knowledge and skills that
will fulfill their many intellectual and spiritual needs. Each student will
be helped to develop the power to think constructively, to solve problems,
to reason independently and fairly, and consequently develop positive
attitudes towards life-long education.
For myself, teaching provides an opportunity for continual learning and
growth. Therefore, together with my students, I look forward to many
exciting and rewarding experiences this school year. My hope is to instill
a love of learning in my students, as I share my passion for teaching with
them. Thank you for entrusting your children to me.
To be faith-filled students practicing honesty, integrity, and the golden
rule. To apply problem solving and reasoning skills and the scientific
method to our daily studies.
