Mrs. Karen Mangin
This is my 4th year at the OLC School and I am very excited
to be back!
I graduated from Providence College in Rhode Island with a Bachelor’s degree
in Business/Marketing. I worked for many years as a Systems Trainer in the
retail field at Stern’s Departments Stores and I also trained SAP Systems
for a major newspaper circulation company.
I completed the New Pathways to Teaching in NJ and I hold a NJ State
Certification for Elementary Education K-5.
I will be teaching computers to all children from Pre-K 3 through 8th grade.
I will also be working with the faculty and staff to integrate and innovate
technology use in the classrooms and serve as the Technology Coordinator.
My philosophy for teaching computers is as follows:
We need to acknowledge that this generation is a “digital” generation. They
are "digital natives" who have grown up with technology and are eager to
immerse themselves in it. My goal is to work with all children to use
technology responsibly, to become a responsbile cyber-citizen and to enhance
and expand their learning both inside and outside of the classroom.
