Can I bring in a cake or cupcakes for my child's birthday?
No, because of the school's "Wellness Program" only healthy
snacks can be brought it. Some healthy alternatives are: Jello, Pudding, Fruit
Snacks, Fruit Juices, Fruit, Granola or Cereal Bars, Pretzels, Fruit
Leathers, etc. These snacks must be individually wrapped and prepackaged with the ingredient label. For more ideas, you can check out some of these websites:

Can I bring in goody bags?
No, goody bags for birthdays are no longer permitted.
Can invitations be given out?
Yes, only if all students in the class are invited. The
invitations will be handed out at the end of the day. If only some students are
invited, they cannot be given out on school grounds. If anything is given out
in class, it has to be given to ALL students, and will be given out at the end
of the day.
How often is the Teacher Web updated?
I update it everyday. Starting the week of Sept. 8th, I will
have it updated before or by 6 P.M. Occasionally, when OLC School schedules
meetings at night, such as "Back-to-School Night", "Open House",
Parent-Teacher Conferences, etc., the website will be updated the
next day.
Will the students have new material to learn for homework?
No, all homework assignments are an extension of the day's
lesson. It provides students to practice and review the skills they learned
that day. I give students every opportunity to let me know if they are having
difficulty. If they find a lesson to be hard, then I go over it until they
feel comfortable.
Where is Aftercare held for 3rd Grade?
Aftercare for 3rd grade will be held in the 3rd grade classroom or in the 2nd grade classroom.
What are the school hours?
The school hours for Grades 1-8 is 8:15 A.M.-3:00 P.M.
