Reading to your child is an important part of his/her development. Although your child may not read yet, he/she will learn important pre-reading skills. Your child will learn how to hold a book correctly, how to turn pages carefully, and how to read text from left to right. Your child will also learn responsibility for books, as well as sharing books with friends. By reading to your child, he/she will be familiar with the reading process.
