I was born in Santiago de los Caballeros in the Dominican Republic. I was
raised in New York
City and attended Mother Cabrini High School (NYC). I did my undergraduate
work at
S.U.N.Y New Paltz in Spanish and my graduate work at Mercy College in
Secondary Education.
The year 2003 was an important year for Hispanics in the United States.
Latinos became the largest minority. Spanish is considered the second
language of the United States. As the Latino population continues to grow,
it is becoming more important to acquire proficiency in Spanish.
We will be accomplishing a great deal this year. In addition to studying the
Spanish language, we will be increasing our cultural understanding of the
Spanish speaking world and learning tolerance for all the diverse peoples and
cultures.
