Mrs. Melhem has been teaching since 1983. She holds a Master's degree in
Education with a Reading Specialist certificate.
She was Port Colden's 2009 Teacher of the Year.
She was 2011's recipient of the V.F.W.'s local National Citizenship
Educational Teacher K through 5 Teacher of the Year for the Washington
Township School District and for the state of New Jersey.
Her husband Maynard owns Phillipsburg's Akab Taxi and Transportation. She has
a daughter, Sabrina, who is 16 and son Nicholas who is 11.
