What is the purpose of a Resource room and how is it used?

The reason a school would have a Resource Room is to help students learn on 
a more
individualized basis and to bring about a more successful approach to 
school work.
  1. How are tests taken in the Resource Room, and how are they graded?
  2. When should a student opt to enter the Resource Room?
  3. How does is a student removed from the Resource Room program, entirely?



How are tests taken in the Resource Room, and how are they graded?

Tests that are taken in the Resource Room will be given orally 
when needed. Test will not be given with time restraints. The
test will then be placed in the
mailbox of the mainstreamed teacher to be marked and given back
to the student. STUDENTS THAT HAVE AN ISP/IEP
HAVE UNTIMED TESTS, EXAMS, S.A.T.s etc. Comp Ed students will not be allowed to take tests in the resource room.

When should a student opt to enter the Resource Room?

Work that is done in the Resource Room will be  handed in on time.
Students are held accountable for all missed work.
Students need to communicate with the Resource Room teacher,
asking for help as soon needs arise. Students will be able
to keep up with the mainstreamed class by actively using the
Resource Room facilities daily. All exams and mid terms will be
taken in the Resource Room.

How does is a student removed from the Resource Room program, entirely?

A student will be taken out of the program with a written note 
from parent/legal guardian. Once the individual is removed, they
will lose all privalages for the extended time on exams, tests,
SATs, etc. test taking rights as well as a scheduled resource room time.
