What are the consequences for not following the classroom rules?

In my classroom I use a traffic light for behavior modification. Everyone
starts the day on the green light. If they do not follow or break a rule of the
class, I give them two warnings, on the third time that I have to speak with them they move their clip to
the yellow/amber light. When they are on the yellow light, they will get a letter home explaining what had happened that caused them to move their clip.
If I have to speak with them again they will get another two warnings before their clip gets moved to the
red light. Once their clip is on the red light, they will have to come with me during their special time at the end of the day and make a phone call home with me.
In order for my students to visit the treasure chest during Friday Free Time, they need to at least have four days without their clip being
moved. Everyone is entitled to ONE bad day. If they move to Red, they do not get to choose from the treasure chest on Friday!

Absolutely! If you choose to volunteer, we can set up a schedule
were you can be involved on a regular basis. Some of the things
that volunteers can do is, File, prepare teaching materials for
centers or projects, Change bulletin boards, make copies,
organize classroom celebrations for holidays or special events,
work individually or in a small group with the children,
and last, but certainly not least, assist during reading and math
activities.

Is my child going to have snack?

Yes! Snack time will generally be around the same time
everyday. Since we have first lunch, we will be eating an
afternoon snack. Snack will be around 1:30 everyday! Please
make sure to provide your child with a HEALTHY snack daily.
Snack WILL NOT be provided for them. Some ideas for a healthy
snack are:
carrots, pretzels or pretzel sticks, graham crackers, etc...
Please make sure to pack something that is easy for them to eat
as well as open and not to messy. Remember they should not have
to use a fork or spoon during snack. Please also remember to label what is snack so they do not eat it during lunch time and left with without a snack in the afternoon!

Should my child have a change of clothes?

Yes. Please send in, in a sealable plastic bag, a pair of
paints, a shirt, socks, and a change of underware. Even though your
child is potty-trained, accidents do happen. So just incase of an
emergency I would like to keep this in the classroom year around.
If the dirty clothes get sent back home because we needed to use
them, please just replenish them with clean clothes.
