Welcome to the Smokehouse!

To help learn and understand the 
importance of fire safety, the 
good men of Ridgeway Firehouse 
volunteered their time to come 
speak with the children of 
Ridgeway School. 
We would like to thank them all 
for putting on an exceptional 
presentation. We learned a lot of 
valueable information!

We lined up before entering the 
Smokehouse.

In the Living Room

In the mock living room, we 
learned about being safe around a 
fireplace, candles, and about 
smoke alarms.

In the Kitchen

We also learned how to stay safe 
in the kitchen.

Escaping

When the fake smoke emerged into 
the bedroom, we carefully 
practiced escaping and meeting at 
a safe place. Here, Robert does a 
good job of getting out safely.

Brianna

Brianna also did a good job of 
escaping!

Have a Plan!

We learned that one of the most 
important things families can do 
is have a plan! We practiced 
meeting at a safe place and 
taking a count of everyone there. 
We would like to thank the 
firefighters, and smokehouse-man-
in-training Christopher for doing 
an excellent job. We appreciate 
it!
