Skill: Cause and Effect

The cause tells WHY something happens.

The effect tells WHAT happens.

Example: A tree falls to the ground after being hit by lightning. The effect is WHAT happened-- the tree fell to the ground. The cause is WHY it happened-- the lightning hit it.
