Thanks for being so interested in learning more about me! I have so many
wonderful things to tell you.
I currently live in Bergen County with my husband, Anthony, and our 5 1/2
month old son, Andrew. We moved here five years ago from Miami, Florida
where I lived for 27 years. I enjoyed having Summer year round in Miami, but
now enjoy the seasons here in NJ.
What inspired me to become a teacher:
It all started when I used to play teacher/student with my friends, or even
my dolls at about the age seven. I, of course, always wanted to be the
teacher. You are probably asking yourself, why? Let me help you with that
answer. My mother is a teacher, my father is a teacher, and my grandmother
was a teacher and a principal. So guess what genes I was born with?
Teaching genes. It is in my blood to be the best teacher I can be!
Because I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher, picking a career was
easy for me. I chose to study Elementary Education at Barry University, a
private college in my hometown. I continued on to receive my Masters in
Teaching Reading at NOVA Southeastern University, another private college in
Florida.
I have been working with children for a long time. I have inspired
children, ages 5 to 14, at Hoboken Charter School, St. Stephen's Episcopal
School, Aventura Charter School, Miami Country Day School, The Cushman
School, Ruth K. Broad Elementary School, Miami Shores Elementary School,
Saint Rose of Lima School, and Miami Shores Community Church School. I am
currently very excited to be teaching Kindergarten at Saddle River Day School.
Birthday: July 26
Favorite Sports (to play): Soccer and tennis
Favorite Sports (to watch): Football "LET'S GO CANES!" I also LOVE to watch
soccer!!!
Favorite Books: Harry Potter, Junie B. Jones "the B stands for Beatrice,"
Strega Nona, Amelia Bedelia, Diary of a Worm, and many more!
From the moment the students step into my classroom, I will inspire them to
become life-long learners. My enthusiasm for learning is very contagious!
Beware! In order to encourage the love of learning, the students will be
given the freedom to explore different areas of interest, as well as
discover new passions. After being a part of "Mrs. Z's" Kindergarten
class, your children will take with them cherished memories, foundations,
skills, and inspirations that will serve them the rest of their lives and
equip them to follow their dreams.
