I have been a teacher for many years. I first taught in Essex County
where I drove a mobile classroom and went from school to school and taught
remedial math and reading. I moved to Sayreville when I married
Mr.Comerford , 29 years ago. We have a daughter, Allison, who graduated from
Monmouth University . She is a medical device sales rep. for Discus Dental
in Manhattan.
I was a PTA mom for Arleth School, a substitute teacher for about 5
years, and have been a full time teacher at Arleth for the past 12 years.
In 2005 I had the great honor of being named "Teacher of the Year" for
Arleth School. I have also been named to "Who'Who Among Teachers" for the
2005, 2006 and 2007 school years
Our class has been very active in giving our time and energy to the
community of Arleth as well as outside of our school. We have been very
helpful by collecting canned goods for the hungry and making signs that hang
in the school asking people to recycle and not pollute. We also
participatein the "Color A Smile" program. The children color papers that
are distributed to the homebound by way of the "Meals on Wheels" program.
This way the trays received by the people are nicely decorated.
As a result of these experiences, I hope that our children will be able
to leave Arleth a better place than they entered it by becoming caring and
helpful individuals.
