What does ASI stand for?

What is the ASI Math program?

The ASI Math program is a supplemental support program provided to the first 
through third grade students who qualify. Students who attend ASI do not miss 
math. This program is in addition to their regular math class.

How are the students chosen for the program?

The kindergarten Terra Nova assessment is used for placement in first grade. 
The NJ Pass (NJ Proficiency Assessment of State Standards)  is used for 
placement in second and third grade.

What size is the class?

The ASI program utilizes small group instruction and/or in-class support.

How often do the ASI students receive services?

Depending on their class schedule I will either meet with them two times a 
week (45 minutes each session) or three times a week (30 minutes each 
session) for a total of 90 minutes per week.

How does my child exit the program?

In the Spring, students in grades 1 and 2 will take the NJ PASS and grade 3 
students the NJ ASK. Based on those results your child will either exit the 
program or remain in it the following school year.

Will my child receive a report card?

Each child will be given a quarterly report that will be sent home with 
their report card.
