The word TAG is an acronym for the Talented and Gifted program in Sayreville. What does the TAG Program consist of? Type I - Guest Speakers Type II - Teacher Group Instruction Type III - Projects/Trips Above Average Ability Task Commitment Creativity All three are combined together. What criteria is used for testing into the TAG Program in Lower Elementary?
Are TAG students gifted , yet? No, they have the ability and potential but must prove themselves to society. They have been identified for the program due to their high test scores. Yes, Everyone is special in each individual way. TAG students are academically gifted. There are many different ways to be talented. Students are asked to be very proud of themselves but not to brag about their talents. A lightbulb is the symbol for TAG. It symbolizes thinking. When it is turned on, it shines brightly and represents our brain. Genius creates great works Labor alone finishes them. By Jobert Everyone gets great ideas, but it's the work that makes them happen. Task commitment is sticking to the job until it is completed and getting it done on time. What does each TAG student need for class? A TAG binder, inserts, pencil, pencil case holder and lightbulb eraser are given to each TAG student. The binder is to be kept clean, brought to TAG class and used each year in TAG. What subject areas are in the TAG binder as inserts? Possible Study, Goals, Writings, Experiences and Thinking Skills are the titles. What is required of each TAG student? All TAG students must complete one project in correlation to the year's theme. All homework/classwork in homeroom and TAG must be done and completed on time. Test grades need to be kept at a high level. Otherwise, a conference will be held and the child will be put on probation from the TAG program. When and how long is the TAG class? Students attend one forty-five minute period per week in the TAG room in each school. Students are with children in the same grade level. The day depends upon their school location. The time is made according to various homeroom schedules. Friday is the rotation day. It is also the automatic make-up day if there is no school or I am absent on the regular day of class. This is the guest speaker and trip day as well. What are the scheduled days for each school in 2009 - 2010? Mrs. Hudock will be at the following schools on these days: Monday- Arleth Tuesday - Wilson Wednesday - Eisenhower Thursday - Truman Friday - Automatic make-up day and rotated according to missed days, guest speakers, trips, enrichments etc. on an as needed basis.
