"Be the Best Me I Can Be!"

Mrs. Haines is working hard to restore her website.  Currently her website is still under construction.  The email link found on her site is not active.  If you need to contact her, please email Mrs. Haines at lisa.haines@sayrevillek12.net
Feel free to join my NewsFlash for important updates on early dismissals and school closings.

This year, we are encouraging children to be the best they can be at anything they do.  Please encourage your children to always do their best and be their best!

Our year long community service projects include collecting Box Tops for Education, Campbell's labels, and soda can tabs.  Items can be sent in through-out the school year.  Please place them in a small bag with your child's name and homeroom number on them.  Thank you in advance for helping Truman help our community.

We will continue to brainstorm ways we can reduce, reuse, and recycle. Don't forget we are trying to have a
Trash Free Lunch.  This means switching to Tupperware style containers and reusable water or juice bottles.  Just because we are not focusing on Going Green, it doesn't mean we will go back to naughty habits.  Continue to use the 3R's everyday!!

No book club order forms will be sent home until April when Mrs. Haney returns to work.
Each month I will be sending home a Scholastic Book Club order form.  Thank you in advance for supporting our classroom by allowing your child to purchase from the club.  For every book purchased our class earns points which are used to purchase books for our classroom library.  Please make sure you return the completed order form and either cash or check on the date due.  The easiest way is to order your books on line.  Instructions are always attached to the order form when it goes home.

Our educational focus for January and February will be:
~Reading longer passages for comprehension
~Writing responses which include a text to self connection
~Writing three paragraphs about a specific topic
~Using Robust Vocabulary in speech and writing
~Problem Solving
~Multiplication Facts
~Geometry, shapes and movements
~Traveling cross country to learn about our Nation
~Community Service Projects

As we say in class, "The only way to do your best is to try your best!"
