Why do we have to get our homework sheets signed each night?
I feel it is important for someone at home to be working with each 3rd grader in 3D-6 to encourage them to complete all work each night. Some students are very self-motivated, while others may need a push in the right direction. In order to have some consistency in our third grade class, I have each child get their sheet signed Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights. Signing the homework sheet does not mean that you have CHECKED all of the homework, but instead confirmed that the child has done the best they could with the work for the night. If a student is struggling, by all means take some time to sit down with him or her; however your signature does NOT necessarily mean you have gone over each and every homework question with your child.HAPPY HOMEWORKING!Back to Top
