Since the beginning of the year, you have been reading quietly for 15-30 minutes every night and filling out a reading log. Well….things are changing! No longer will you need to fill out the reading log.
You will still be reading for 15-30 minutes every night but now you will be writing about what you read. Stapled into the back of your Reader Response, is a list of possible topics for your writing. Select any response starter you want. They should be 2 different ones each week. But you are allowed to use the starter again in a few weeks.
You will be writing 2 paragraphs every week from now to February. In February, you will be required to write 3 paragraphs. Then up to 5 paragraphs in April.

You must be reading a Grade level appropriate chapter book
v You must date the top of your page and write the title of your book. I should see the same title for a few entries since you are reading a chapter book.
v You MUST WRITE A PARAGRAPH! Make sure that you use information from the book to support your opinion/thoughts. Give me specific details!

Your paragraph should start with finishing the thought/statement from the blue card. It must have many details from the story. Don’t forget a excellent ending sentence!
