For Parents

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The 2009-2010 school year is upon us! There are so many
exciting programs your children can look forward to, held through the media
center. This year we will expand on our library skills, explore various
reading genres, and practice research skills by learning the Big 6. Also,
students can participate in our annual reading programs, Read Across America
and Battle of the Books.

We are always in need of dedicated volunteers who are able to help in the
media center one morning or afternoon a week. If you are interested in
joining the library volunteer committee, please send an e-mail to
susan.mcdonough@sayrevillek12.net.

This year we are once again holding our very successful recycling
program "Cash 4 Trash." If you have any used up ink cartridges or old cell
phones, please send them in with your child. He/she can drop them off in
the Media Center, room 308 or Ms. Schmidt's technology classroom.

The school year holds great promise for every student. Please remember to
encourage your children to read every day. Their best role models are
you! If you read, your children will read too. Sharing a book
is a wonderful way to spend time as a family. Enjoy!

Sincerely,

Mary Desmond
