Homework Guidelines

Where is homework posted?

Homework assignments are written on the chalkboard every day. Students are
expected to copy all assignments into their agenda books. Homework
assignments will not be available online.

Homework is important.

Homework is important because it is a valuable tool in helping students make
the most of their experience in school. Homework is assigned because it
reinforces what has been learned in class, prepares students for upcoming
lessons, teaches responsibility, and helps students develop positive study
habits.

Homework counts!

Homework assignments will count for 15% of the student's grade for each
subject. A homework grade will be the percentage of homework assignments
that are completed. For example, if 15 out of 20 assignments are completed,
the homework grade will be 75%. The homework grade, together with grades
from tests, quizzes, projects, etc. will comprise the student's average. You
will recieve a notice if an assignment is missed.

What if homework is late?

We expect that assignments be completed on time. Homework will only be
accepted on the day it is due. If the student is absent or if an
extenuating circumstance exists, late assignments will be accepted. This
needs to be verified by a note from a parent.

How can I help?

All students are to copy assignments from the chalkboard into their agenda
book exactly as written. Please check your child's agenda book daily, and see
that all work is completed.
