Our Sound Muncher likes to munch on pictures that has the same beginning letter sound as our letter of the week. For example, if we are learning the letter R - ask your child draw a picture or find a picture that begins with the same sound that letter R makes. What are Popcorn Words?
Popcorn words are words that pop up in our reading! These are the sight words that we will learn throughout the year. Our popcorn books must come to school every day. It is important to have your child read these words every night. Throughout the year, I will add sentences to the popcorn books for your child to also read. Back to Top

How do I become a Mystery Reader?
Mystery Readers are invited to come in and surprise our class with a story to read. During Back to School Night and conferences I will have a sign-up sheet for those of you interested in becoming a Mystery Reader. The Mystery Reader dates are usually Fridays at 2:30 pm. If you did not have a chance to sign- up, please e-mail me and we can work out a date. Back to Top

What is the 100 Club?
To become a "member" of the 100 Club, each student must successfully count to 100 by ones, fives and tens without assistance. We begin asking the children to count to 100 between February and March. Back to Top
