What is the Code of Conduct in our school?

AMOR, RESPETO y ACTITUD POSITVA

I am respectful
I am prepared
I am safe
I am responsible
We are here to learn, therefore:
1. I will show respect for people and property using good manners
and
appopiate language.
2. I will be responsible and accountable for my behavior and my
actions.
3. I will come to school prepared for learning.
4. I will help create and maintain a safe learning environment.
5. I will take pride in myself and my school.
6. I will contribute in achieving school and classroom goals and
objectives.

What are the consequences for not following the code of conduct?

1. First offense-Warning
2. Second offense- Reminder and/seat reasignment
3. Third offense- Student is sent to BMC and contact
parent/guardian
*Severe misbehavior will result in being sent to BMC or the
office
immediately and parent will be contacted.

How am I going to be graded?

TESTS     40% (including open nb. Test and projects)
Homework 20%
Classwork 20%
Oral participation 20%

*Homework is not an option. All HW Missed or incomplete
assignments will
result in a zero*
**Evaluation is varied and ongoing**

What can I do if I couldn't do the homework?

All Homework is due the following class. If unable to turn in an 
assignment
due to special circumstances a note from home will be required.
Missed or
incomplete assignments will result in a zero.

You will need a written note signed by your parent or guardian.
Otherwise, 10 points will be taken off your homework average(if
turned in
next class).

What do I do if I am out of school?

Class meets every other day.  Therefore, if you are absent the 
day
you have Spanish and return the next, you have study period :-)
As a
result,
the work can be completed for the following class day. Here is
the
procedure:

1. The day you are absent, call your study buddy to find out
what was
missed during class and get the homework assignment.
2. Check this website to verify the homework assignment.
3. Do the homework.
4. When you arrive to school the next day, go into your Spanish
classroom
and look for any missed handouts located in the file folder.
5. During study, copy the notes missed from study buddy or other
responsible classmate. If the workbook was utilized, make sure
to copy
notes
there, also.
6. Now, you are up to date. Remember that quizzes
may not be announced.

What do I do if I don't understand the lesson or have a question?

-Feel free to ask me any questions at the beginning or at the end 
of the
class.
-Visit my web site and consult the various grammar/ vocabulary
aid links.
-Sent me an e-mail through my web site. I'll answer your question
as soon as
possible.
-Extra help will be on Wednesdays from 2:45 to 3:30. Please make
arrangements to get home.
-Remember that you may also ask a class mate for help. Peer help
is usually
very effective.

What do I do if I don't understand the homework?

- Ask questions before you leave the classroom.
- See me during your study period for further clarification.
- Always attempt to do the assignmet the best you can.

How is oral participation graded?

Participation tickets will be given to students for correctly 
answering
questions,or volunteering in class. Students are responsible for
keeping the
tickets until they are collected for the final grade. Students
will need to
accumulate as many participation tickets as possible to receive
High
participation grade.
Practice makes perfect! You learn to play the guitar by playing
the
guitar.You learn to swim by swimming.You learn to talk by
listening and
talking. You learn to speak Spanish by listening to Spanish and
speaking
Spanish. My goal is to get you speaking,reading, writing and
understanding
the language.
