Grade 8 STAMP Test for World Languages

STAMP Test for World Languages

The Scotch Plains-Fanwood World Language program has been selected to
participate in a three -year assessment program sponsored by the New Jersey
Department of Education. We will pilot test a Grade Eight World Language
Proficiency Assessment in French, German, Italian, and Spanish this April -
May. This is an excellent opportunity for the school district to determine
the proficiency level of individual students as well as the effectiveness of
the K-8 World Languages program. We anticipate receiving the results at the
end of the school year.

All grade 8 students currently taking French, German, Italian, and Spanish
will be given the STAMP test (STAndards-based Measurement of Proficiency) in
reading and speaking. The test is online and will be administered in two
parts in late April and May. Information about the STAMP test as well as
actual testing dates for each Grade 8 World Language class will be sent home
to parents in the Spring.

The link below will bring you to the STAMP website, where further information
is available. Practice tests are also available on this site. Students and
their parents may take a practice STAMP test simply by clicking on
the "Practice Test" link, and then selecting the language your child is
currently studying.
