What do I need to have in class everyday?
Notebook, something to write with, willingness to think and learn.
What are we learning about in this week? When is this due? When is our test?
In addition to the announcement/homework board located in the
classroom, you can check your class' calendar on this website for
a general description of what we'll be doing daily. The
calendar is also helpful in checking assignment due dates, quiz,
and test dates.
What's my grade?
You can check your grades anytime by going to href="http://www.mygradebook.com"
target="_blank">mygradebook.com Do not ask to see your grades
during class time.
How can I contact Ms. Lockwood?
ALL contact information is available href="http://www.teacherweb.com/nj/scotchplainsfanwoodhighschool/l
ockwood/t.stm" target="_blank">here.
What if I need extra help?
I am usually here before school by 7:45 and after school until at
least 3. I am also available during period 4 lunch (make
appointment). I also welcome and encourage questions by email
or AIM.
What is the policy for late assignments?
Late assignments are accepted ONE day after the due date,
beginning at 50% credit. After one day late, late
assignments lose 5 points a day. The point being: don't hand
assignments in late.
How can I find out what notes/assignments/handouts I missed when I was absent?
When you return to school you will find any handouts you may have
missed in an organizer by the door. Please locate yours and take
them with you. All of your homework assignments are located on
the board in the classroom and on thiswebsite by clicking on the
href="http://www.teacherweb.com/NJ/ScotchPlainsFanwoodHighSchool/L
ockwood/" target="_blank">homework icon for your class. If
you are not able to do this you can email me or come see me after
school.
What if I miss a lab or a quiz/test?
You must make it up before or after school within three
school days. Sooner rather than later is for your
benefit. You need to see me to agree on a mutually available time.
What if I am absent the day before the test?
Since tests are announced in advance, if you are absent the day
before a test and miss that part of the review, you are
still expected to takethe test. Exceptions are made if you were
not present when the test was announced and the day(s) in between.
What is the policy regarding school trips?
You are responsible for any work covered during your absence. In
addition, you must submit any assignments due the day of
the trip before leaving. A trip is not a valid excuse to
submit work late. YOU are also responsible for seeking me out
before or afterschool to make any missed work.
What's my mygradebook.com password?
Classwords are listed under the GRADES section of this website.
Passwords are your student ID numbers.
What is an ABS in mygradebook?
An ABS in the gradebook means absent. It is your responsibility
to check the homework board, website, or to see me on your
time (during class is the class' time) to obtain any
notes, handouts, or work assigned that you missed.
Any ABS will change to a zero if the assignment is not handed
in promptly (you have as many days to complete as you were
absent).
What if I am absent when something is due?
If something is assigned when you are here, especially longer
term assignments like a lab, and you are not present in school on
the day it is due, you are responsible for getting that
assignment here pending extenuating circumstances. Assignments
handed in the next day are considered late.
What if my partner has my notebook/assignment/project/lab?
Other students should not have your schoolwork. In a partner or
group situation, you should both have all the information needed
in your own possession when doing research; "I can't do anything
because Joe has all the information" is completely unacceptable.
If it is decided that a group member will be responsible for
finishing, printing, etc and are going to bring it in, if they do
not show up the next day it is considered late. Make sure you
have each other's contact information and be responsible: make
your partner aware and figure out what you are going to do.
