Does my child have to bring his/her book to school each day?

No, the book should remain at home until the end of the school year. A
classroom set is located in each science room for the days when bookwork is
assigned.

How often are tests given?

Lengthy tests may be given once or twice a marking period. I prefer to give shorter
assessments approximately every other week. Study guides are only provided
for lengthy exams and unit tests. Class work and notes should be sufficient
for preparing for a quiz.

Is a student's class participation graded?

Daily participation is required and will not be scored unless otherwise
indicated by a student's IEP. Project and lab participation grades are
awarded based on effort, preparedness for class, and the ability to
effectively work with other students toward achieving a common goal.
