Alice Walker. We discussed inner struggles as seen in Myop and her

9/24 Today we peer edited our Intro paragraphs.
9/25 GRAMMAR FRIDAY - Today we reviewed and discussed the 8 parts of speech.
We will take this information and learn to diagram sentences next
week. Considered "ancient" by some, this method will allow us to analyze
our own writing. Remember: Each word serves a purpose! If it's not doing
anything in the sentence, get it out!

started to create a loose outline in class focusing on gathering

Sweet Dreams Are Made of This - Today we discussed dreams and listened/
read two essays by Tony Hawk and Ying Ying Yu in regards to personal
dreams? Are dreams good or bad? Do they make us strive to work hard
or do they set us up for possible failure? Think of those American Idol
contestants in the very first episode - horrible!!! Yet, some of them
walk away exclaiming, "I don't care what you say! I'm going to be a
star!" Are their dreams helping or hindering them?
