What happens if work is submitted late?
In general, there will be two "due dates" for each project. The
first date given will be the last time that students will be given
class time to complete a project. Students will still have time to
finish the projects outside of class, and will still be given full
credit. The second date given means that the project is beginning to
be graded. If the students project is incomplete at this time, he
will begin to lose 10% off the grade each day, to a maximum of 50%
off.
The EXCEPTION to this rule is the Trimester Exams which must be completed in
one class period. No one is allowed to access their Exam files after the
allotted time.
What materials should I bring everyday?
All students should arrive to class with working writing implements,
a notebook, and a folder. In addition, it is always a good idea for
students to have extra non-computer work with them in case of extra
available time during the class period.
Can I re-do assignments?
Never assume you can re-do an assignment. On rare occasions, students will
be given the opportunity to make changes to assignments and re-submit them
to
be regraded. These special occasions are individually announced, and may
begin with a reduced grade.
Can I do my assignments at home & bring them in or e-mail them?
All assignments are expected to be completed in class and at help class.
Working at home on any in-class assignments is not the procedure in this
class.
When are Help Classes?
Tuesday PM 245-330 is the regular afternoon HelpClass. Thursday PM is by
appointment, usually until 310.
Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays I will be in the Lab at 7:30 AM - 8:30 AM.
On Tuesdays, you can stay until 9:30 AM.
Can I use the computers at other times?
Although classes meet in the computer lab every period except "F", there may
be computers with empty seats in each class. Students may come to the
computer Lab during any free period and request the use of a computer to do
schoolwork. Access will be granted based on availability. Additionally,
the lab is opened during all Lunch Periods and HR Periods, as well as the
mornings listed above, Friday morning at 8:45 AM, Wednesdays PM and SOME
Mondays PM.
What about surfing the Web and playing games?
Only students who have completed all pending assignments and owe no assigned
work may "surf" the web for personal reasons. Even games are OK at these
times, but only in the Computer Lab (221) and never during Help Class.
Are we allowed to talk while we are working on the computers?
Students may ask each other computer related questions while the class is
working on an assignment. Students should refrain from talking during
teacher instruction, and while working on any assignment which includes the
directions to "work alone." Students surfing for personal reasons should
refrain from talking, unless they are helping others with a class assignment.
What's your REAL name?
People call me Ms Costantino, or Ms C, but that was my name before I was
married. Now I'm Ms Neglia, but because there is ANOTHER Ms Neglia in the
school, people sometimes get confused. As long as you know that my email is
DCostantino@shp.org but the group fusion site is listed under Ms. Diane
Neglia, and the shared directory lists my name as Costantino, you can call me
by any of those names.
