Standards

New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards for Language Arts Literacy

     	3.1 Reading
	All students will understand and apply the knowledge of sounds, 
	letters, and words in written English to become independent and 
	fluent readers, and will read a variety of materials and texts with 
	fluency and comprehension. 

	3.2 Writing
	All students will write in clear and concise, and organized 
	language that varies in content and form for different audiences 
	and purposes.

	3.5 Viewing and Media Literacy
	All students will access, view, evaluate, and respond to print, non 
	print, and electronic texts and resources.
 

Technology Foundation Standards for all Students

	Basic operations and concepts 
        1.  Students demonstrate a sound understanding of the nature and 
	operation of technology systems. 
        2.  Students are proficient in the use of technology. 

	Social, ethical, and human issues 
        1.  Students understand the ethical, cultural, and societal issues 
	related to technology. 
        2.  Students practice responsible use of technology systems, 
	information, and software. 
        3.  Students develop positive attitudes toward technology uses that 
	support lifelong learning, collaboration, personal pursuits, and 
	productivity. 

	Technology productivity tools
        1.  Students use technology tools to enhance learning, increase 
	productivity, and promote creativity. 
        2.  Students use productivity tools to collaborate in constructing 
	technology-enhanced models, prepare publications, and produce other 
	creative works. 

Technology research tools 
        1.  Students use technology to locate, evaluate, and collect 
	information from a variety of sources.
