STORY ABOUT STORMS LAST WEEK!!!
Just a few reminders and updates:
Reading:
~Our reading comprehension focus this week making connecions
~The new reading logs have been working out better for most students.
Please remember that logs will be collected EVERY FRIDAY.
~Spelling or Vocabulary quiz every Tuesday
**Please remind your child to bring an independent reading book to school
every day.
Language Arts:
~Students will writing a explanatory essays this week. The prompt for the
week asks students to think of something nice that they could do for someone
in the family or a friend. They need to explain what they would do and then
explain how they think it will make that person feel.
*Students did a nice job on their biographies-they are hanging in the hall and
will be sent home in a couple of weeks.
~We will be working on the report in class, but there will be parts that
will be assigned as homework.
Math:
~We are finishing up with fractions this week. Student will have an
assessment on Friday. Topics covered: finding equivalent fraction, changing
mixed numbers into improper fraction, changing improper fractions into mixed
numbers, and adding and subtracting fractions.
~Just added some great math links that offer practice for the skills that
we are working on. The first three that are listed will help with addition
and subtracting with regrouping. Just click on LINKS on the sidebar.
