Mrs. Burfeind -- Teacher of the Year: 2008

by: Jenna and Ryan

Our Librarian, Mrs. Burfeind, is the Teacher of the Year: 2008. She thinks this is a very nice honor because the rest of the staff voted on it. When she was chose to be teacher of the year, she got a certificate and was invited to a lunch with the other teachers of the year. This is her first time having this opportunity. Mrs. Burfeind said, "When people saw me, they congratulated me, but if they didn't have time to see me, they sent cards and emails."

Mrs. Burfeind loves being our librarian and loves books. "My favorite book in the library right now is The Tale of Despereanancy," she said. A book she would recommend to Kindergarteners is Owl Babies by Martin Wadell. To fourth graders, she would suggest the book Sunwing by Keneth Oppel. She likes to teach us to add animation to our PowerPoint presentations. Mrs. Burfeind loves being Teacher of the Year!

The rotten princess finds different people, and demands money from them. Eventually she is really tired. She then begs Peter. She really needs to go to sleep. He tells her to go to bed. While at the castle, everyone misses Katrina. when she shows up, everyone cheers. Peter left her. She is very sad. Peter comes back. He is really a prince! He wanted to teach her a lesson. The lesson is not to be mean. Peter and Katrina are together again, Katrina's nice, and they all live happily ever after. This play was based on William Shakespear's play, The Taming of the Shrew.

Sarah Miranda's review of

The Rotten Princess

I think this play was a very good play to see. It really caught people's attention. We got to laugh a lot. The director let the audience act in the play, too. I really think the play was awesome!

Being in the Play

Being in the play, The Rotten Princess, was a good experience. We had to learn all the lines in 4 days. We really worked hard. The auditions were exilerating. Most people were just being plain funny. The directer was good. Good Job Everyone!
