On this page, we recognize achievement and spread the word about upcoming
A.R. contests and special events.
Congratulations to the 35 Language Arts classes on the A.R. Wall of Fame with 100% participation in
Accelerated Reader. In the 23 classes where EVERYONE read at least TWO books and passed two A.R.
tests, everyone won TWO prizes! Those classes were also entered in a drawing for a "Make your own
Banana Split Party!" to culminate our "Go Bananas for Books!" celebration. Four class names were
drawn and enjoyed ice cream sundae parties: CONGRATULATIONS to Mrs. Reidmiller's 2/3 class, Mrs.
Stefkovich's 3/4 class, Miss Gardner's 4/6 class, and Mrs. Klaube's 5/7 class!
Special thanks to Vernon Township school board vice president, Mrs. Auberger, who kindly donated 6
Webkinz monkeys to add to the festivities. The stuffed animals were given away in random drawings at
each party.
Dr. Stumper is so impressed with Accelerated Reader achievement, he will
continue to honor the top 5 MONTHLY AR STARS with the "Principal's Prize"
throughout 2008 - 2009! This award honors the top schoolwide A.R. STARS for
each month. Dr. Stumper presents a gift book inscribed with a special message
for each honoree. Set a goal for yourself this year -- to be called to the
Principal's Office for this reason!
