Dear Student and Parent,
Our school has access to an Internet resource for assisting our students in
reviewing concepts learned in Mathematics and Language Arts and for preparing
for the NJASK tests. Your child can access Study Island from home, school,
the public library, or from anywhere that you have Internet access.
The program is divided into sections based on subject (math, reading and/or
writing). Each section is made up of 10 to 25 topics. Each topic contains
20 – 25 questions with explanations. All topics are accompanied by a lesson,
which includes some brief information about the material covered by the
questions in the topics.
1. Go to www.studyisland.com
2. Enter your username and password and click “Login.”
a. Username: The first initial of your first name and your last
name@warnsdorfer
b. Password:
i. Students in grades 4 and 5 have the same password as last year.
ii. Students in grade 3 have the password study; they will need to change
that password when they log in for the first time.
For example: If my name is Alicia Martin and I attend Warnsdorfer Elementary
School, my username would be amartin@warnsdorfer my password would be study
3. Click on the section tab that you wish to work on – Math, Reading or
Writing
4. Click the “Pretest” in order to begin. You must complete 10 pretest
questions before moving on to the topic in the section.
5. To “pass” a topic, you must meet the topic’s passing requirements
which are based on a minimum number of questions answered. A blue ribbon
icon will be displayed next to all passed topics. If you do not pass a topic
on the first try, a red triangle will appear next to that topic. You may
access a lesson or try the test again.
6. You may choose “game mode” instead of “test mode” for a topic.
We are excited about the potential benefits this program can bring to our
students and encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity by using
Study Island at home. Teachers may be using the program in school or
assigning parts of the program for homework. Please contact Study Island at
800-419-3191 or support@studyisland.com if you have any questions about
accessing the program at home. You may also contact cgrant1@ebnet.org for
assistance with logins and passwords.
Sincerely,
