How can I contact Ms. Gandero?
There are many ways to contact me. You can call the school at 732-613-
6880. You can also contact me via email at NGandero@ebnet.org. There is an
email icon on the top right hand corner of my home page that you can click
on to send me an email. Also, feel free to send notes to school with your
child. Remind your child to hand me the note during our morning routine.
What papers need to be signed by a parent and returned to school?
Any paper that has a grade on it needs to be signed by a parent and
returned. Students will file all of their signed papers in our class
filing box. I will keep track of all papers that are signed and returned.
If papers are not being returned often, I will contact the student's parents
to make sure they are aware of their child's grades.
Should I go to the school to get my child's work if my child is absent?
No, it is not necessary to come to the school to get your child's work
he/she missed during the day. Whenever a child is absent one of his/her
classmates will write down all the assignments we covered that day. This
student will give all of the assignments and books to the absent child's
homework buddy. Your child's homework buddy will get the missed assignments
to your child. However many days a student is absent is how many days
he/she will have to make up the missed assignments.
Note: In the beginning of the school year, each student will be given a form
to pick a reliable homework buddy. This form will be signed by a parent and
returned to school. A homework buddy can be a classmate, a friend in another
class or a sibling in another grade. A classmate will give all of missed
assignments to the homework buddy by the end of the school day.
What is the Math Correction Policy?
If a student receives a grade below an 80 (79 or lower), the student has the
opportunity to correct any problems that he/she answered incorrectly. If
the test is signed by a parent and returned the next school day with
corrections made, I will give half credit to each accurate correction.
Students should take advantage of this opportunity since it can
significantly raise a math test grade. Remember: I will only give credit
for corrections if the student returns the
test the next school day with a parent signature.
