Physical Fitness Testing
Each year in grades 3-5 your child(ren) will participate in several physical
fitness tests. These tests are designed to look at the current fitness level
of your child. A Fitnessgram report will be sent home with your child in the
Fall at the end of the first marking period to show you the status of your
child based on their Fall tests. This report will again be given at the end of
the school year when your child is tested again.
This testing does not affect your childs grade in class. It is
used to encourage your child to maintain or improve their current fitness
levels.
The test that we currently use are:
The P.A.C.E.R (Progressive Aerobic Cardiovascular Endurance Run)
The Push-up Test
The Curl-up Test
There are other test items on the Fitnessgram report but we do not test them
currently. If there is an incomplete or zero next to one of the above tests
it may be there for several reasons. First, your child may have been absent
that day or they may be struggling in that particular area.
If you have any questions about the tests or the report please feel free to
contact Mr. Myer.
